
We will take an individualized approach where the therapy will be adapted to meet your needs and goals. This will involve looking at what you do and how you think about things. You would then be supported to move out of a low mood cycle with both cognitive and behavioural approaches - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – that is customised based on your goals and circumstances.
We would also consider aspects of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) which would look at cultivating your self-compassion and can compliment CBT in a number of ways.

Depending on the causes and symptoms, we will take an approach that considers what is specific to your difficulties. Causes of anxiety can be wide-ranging so we will take time to explore various aspects including thought-processes and physical symptoms related to your anxiety. The aim is to help you develop the skills and confidence to reduce the impact anxiety is having on your life in the long-term.

If you are over 65 and finding things are becoming increasingly difficult this can be for a variety of reasons. You may be becoming more isolated/lonely, worry about how your brain is working, be struggling to make sense of some of the events of your life, or find it difficult to adapt to physical changes/diagnoses.
We can explore the challenges you are facing and consider what might be helpful to make the right changes or get the right support.
